Weldum Family Therapy
About Us:
Weldum Family Therapy Services offers premiere individual, family, couple and child therapy. Our staff is professionally trained and experienced in working with clients to address problems quickly and compassionately using a systems perspective.
Our Team:
We are mental health and relationship specialists. Jill, proprietor, is a New York State Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Nicole Asencio, M.A. and Sara Farmer, M.A. are Marriage and Family Therapists with Limited Permits to practice.
We use Narrative ideas as the foundation of our work. Sometimes called Narrative Therapy or Narrative Practices, they are a growing set of ethically based and innovative therapy ideas that recognize people use narrative, or story, to make meaning of their lives and identity and as such can re-author them.
What We Do:
Your therapist will ask you questions about your life and concerns to facilitate what we hope are meaningful conversations about your life, towards re-authoring it according to your desires and beliefs. We creatively explore stories, resources, and ideas you may or may not have fully considered in the hope that they provide new possibilities and ways to address the concerns that have brought you here. We welcome your creativity in expressing yourself, your life, and your relationships through writing, words, art, music, movement, and other formats. In addition, we are trained in and may suggest other possibly helpful therapy approaches and ideas.
You and your therapist have access to the knowledge and skills of our team of therapists and outside professionals when needed. This means that your therapist will consult within the Weldum Family Therapy team about your work, and that if desired by you and your therapist, Weldum Family Therapy team members can consult with you and your therapist during your session.
